Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend is not as busy a time on Ocracoke as one might think. Families are busy getting children ready to begin another year of school or the children have already begun classes and Ocracoke is a "fer piece" to come for a weekend. But the weekend was beautiful, sunny and quiet, temperatures in the low 80's, soft breeze. Sorry ya'll weren't here. We did enjoy it. Today we have a front moving through and we've had lovely rain since midmorning. Seems like a perfect day to read a book or, heaven forbid, take a nap.

You can read our latest newsletter here. It's a history of Ocracoke's historic Howard Street.
